Bobby Bankston grew up in Fannin County Texas. He
graduated from Dodd city High School.
Bobby began his career in the funeral profession Sept. 1, 1959 while
he was still in high school. Bobby graduated from The Dallas
Institute of Mortuary Science with licenses in Funeral Direction and
Embalming. Since
then he has been employed at funeral homes in Bonham, Greenville,
Sulphur Springs, and Mt. Pleasant Texas.
In 1998 Bobby purchased Memorial Monuments and Apple Caskets. He wanted to be able to offer reasonably priced alternatives to typically over priced caskets, monuments, urns, etc. Bobby enjoys interaction with the public. He wanted to work directly assisting grieving families and individuals who are making pre-need decisions. Bobby is gratified knowing he can help people with final decisions as well as help comfort them by making the funeral process a little easier emotionally and financially.
Bobby has lived in Sulphur Springs for almost 2 decades. He is married to Dr. Suzanne Thomas Bankston, a professor at U. T. Tyler.
Robin Bankston Wheat, daughter of Bobby Bankston, grew up in Hunt County Texas. She graduated from Campbell High School in Campbell Texas. After graduation Robin attended East Texas State University.
Robin is married to Jeff Wheat who is the middle school coordinator and head boy's coach at Lone Oak Middle School. The Wheats live in Cumby Texas. They have two sons, Mitchell and Matthew, and a daughter, Mallory.
